If you think your life is nuts, try this.

Back to us and our crazy life. After three months of living at our house, Cavin and Angie finally get to move into their home! They are moving tomorrow morning. I'm sure they are so excited to have a place of their own again. I, for one, am going to miss having a friend to talk to all day long. It has been so great having Angie here to keep me company! So, girls, expect lots and lots of calls over the next few days as I adjust to being alone again!

Okay, our house. Miracle of all miracles, we sent back a pretty stiff counter offer to the couple who likes our house, and they accepted it!! I was floored, to be honest with you. Who thought in this market that we could sell our house at asking price in one week?! I think my mom must have prayed for us. That woman could move the Great Salt Lake to India with her prayers, I swear. So, Mom, if you could pray for everything to go smoothly and that this offer doesn't fall through or have any kinks, I'd appreciate it! Our closing date is May 19th. Yes, I know that is in three and a bit weeks. Yes, I know I am nuts.

Our moving truck will arrive here on May 13th and leave for Maryland on the 16th. We'll probably close on Monday and leave early, early Tuesday morning. Its a 32 hour drive. [Hold on while I lose my lunch.] Okay, back. Yes, you read right. 32 HOURS. Our current plan is to drive 14 hours on Tuesday, stay somewhere in Nebraska that night, drive 14 more hours on Wednesday, stay at my sister Cara's in Pittsburgh that night, and drive 4 hours on Thursday to Baltimore. Blech. We could do it lots of ways, obviously, but we really need to go by Cara's because I need the next installment of hand-me-down clothes for my kids! (And Cara is moving to Omaha in June, so this is probably our only chance to get stuff from her.)

So, now I'd like to say thanks to all the people who said I can do this because I am "amazing". Unfortunately, you are wrong. The only person to hit the nail on the head was Krishele, who commented that the only reason I can do this is because I am "so strong willed and stubborn". I think that is a bit more accurate. :) Do you honestly all think that I am handling this well?! If so, you are just as crazy as I am. I'm up to my eyeballs in stress, although some fun experiences have come out of it. Earlier this week I couldn't sleep, so I spent from 11:30 to 12:30 am sitting on the porch, neighbor spying. It is hilarious the things that go on at night! Like where on earth was my neighbor across the street coming from when she got home at 11:30pm with just one of her boys? And why do the people deeper in the cul-de-sac have their bedroom lights on all night long? Who knew the next door neighbors could throw such late parties? Honestly, guys. If you can't sleep, spy on your neighbors. It's a really entertaining pastime!

Just my thoughts, take them or leave them -I would highly recommend looking into flying -you and the kids. 8 hours of misery is nothing like 3 days of it. Moving is really hard on the kids. I would even suggest just staying at your parents while Samuel and the E.Q. do the packing and moving and just meeting him out there after he has things ready. If I see any specials on Southwest, I'll email you. :)

A 32 hour drive--yuck! I thought the 22 hour drive from Texas to Utah was long! Bring lots of dvds for the kiddos and get driving early in the morning when they are still sleeping. That's what we did with Harrison and the drive went amazingly smoothly! Good luck!

WOW!!! I can't believe you're moving so SOON!!! You're nuts- same Janae I knew in the MTC though ;). I have to agree with Ruth- I would totally suggest flying over driving- so what if it's with two young kids sitting in your lap. A 5 hour flight is much better than 32 hours/ 3 days of driving and I can probably gaurentee you that someone (stuardist) will help you on the flight!!! + what does your doctor suggest- seeing as though you are pretty far along in your pregnancy??? I just got back from driving a 9 1/2 drive at 31 weeks prego- and it started getting uncomfortable for me and the baby towards the end. Last year in April I drove the same 9 1/2 hour drive at 37 weeks pregnant and I thought I was doing well- but towards the end of the drive things started looking pretty scary because I started to loose feeling in my body. Anyhow Janae- I would definitely say fly!!! Have a friend or a family member drive out with Sam. Don't be stubborn about trying to make the trip by car rather than plane either- you're safety and the baby's safety is far more important than your pride or any money it cost to buy a ticket. I'm sure you're probably already feeling the stress from just the idea of packing and such. PLEASE take it easy! Good luck with everything- let us know if you need any help.- Steph

Okay, so I've been holding back, but I have to officially say, I'm so sad you guys are moving! Of corse my reasons are purley selfhsh. I am happy for you guys. This will be a great thing for you. But the part of me that's selfish is sad. We're losing our temple buddies! Oh well. C'est la vie. It'll be fun to hear about your adventures in Baltimore. If you guys need help packing or moving, or watching kids while you attempt to pack and move, let us know!

Janae, we will keep you guys in our prayers. I am so glad that the counter offer was accepted!!! What a tremendous blessing. We will sure miss you guys (even though we were missing you anyway from us being so far away in Logan.) And I have to admit that we neighbor "watch". Spying sounds so... on purpose? lol It is quite entertaining, but since we live in Studentville, all we we get to see is who is dating who.

Wow! I need to be calling your mom to put myself on her "to pray for" list! She really is the nicest lady! I am so excited for your move but imagining your stress! You can do it! By the way, weren't we just looking at the model homes in your neighborhood the other day???
