You'd think (I least, I'd think) that since Sam is being an Apostle, we'd actually know stuff about the filming. We don't. In fact, I only found out where they'd be filming (Goshen) today when I ran across this news clip of the set:

I knew they wouldn't be doing any filming in the Holy Land (besides being expensive, it is also waaaay too crowded for any real filming to go on), but I crossed my fingers anyway. Cuz if Sam were going, I'd have to go too. I don't take to being left out very well. (This started at a really young age. Just ask my older sister.) Ironically, my parents are in Israel right now. I am
Anyway, this last week Sam went into be fitted. He has four outfits (that sounds girly, doesn't it?), I mean costumes:
- Early ministry of Christ
- Last Supper, crucifixion, etc.
- Baptizing with Peter (post-gospels era)
- Older missionary

I'm totally with you on that one! If Aaron goes anywhere fun for work, I am going to.
WOW It looks pretty well to me. Maybe you could join him on his lunch hour.
I meant real not well! Seriously some day I will learn to edit my comments.
Seriously so cool! Yeah, maybe Goshen in real life doesn't quite compare to Israel but it'll look perfect on screen!
Janell - So true! Movie cameras are amazing like that. What a bummer that we don't still live down in Spanish Fields - it would be so much closer of a commute!
Hey Janae...saw an article in the Deseret News about the sets today as well. They said actors were being cast largely according to their Mediterranean looks. I figured you would like that because it makes Sam sound very exotic.

Derek - Oooooh! I do like that! Mediterranean looks, eh? He does sound exotic! When we were first married we used to joke that Sam and his brother should join the CIA, because their looks were so versatile. In Brazil they look Brazilian, in Chile they look Chilean, in Denmark they look Danish, in Spain they look Spanish, in Oman they look Omanian (yes, they have gotten that one), and in Mozambique they look Mozambiqui (they've gotten that one too...oddly enough). So funny!
Funny that we had to find out about the set through Deseret News!
Looks way awesome to me. That is odd that you have to find out about a film you/your honey are/is in via news casts and newspapers.
On a side note, they are filming a lot of footage for the new Batman movie here in Pittsburgh. Ironically enough, the news doesn't get to hear much about it...only the actors are in on this one. Heinz field was repainted to be the field for the Gotham Rogues. Little side trivia for you. :)
That was a cool video. It's going to be an amazing experience. I'm excited for you guys.
