I'm not sure which is more surprising to me: that Enoch turned 2 or that Enoch turned 2 and I'm not pregnant. Both are pretty startling! We still call him the "baby", even though my other two kids had graduated from being the baby much earlier. (When Seara turned 2, Elijah was 8 months. When Elijah turned 2, Enoch was 4 months.)
Enoch continues to be a mild-tempered, easy-going, and pleasant baby boy. Because we called him Een-bean for so long, he introduces himself to others as "Bean." And he is still the spitting image of my dad. Check this out:
My favorite thing about Enoch is how observant he is. He notices everything. He points out every chapel we pass in the car, every bird that flies by outside, and every spider that creeps around the house. In just one week he learned nearly all the names of his 6 visiting aunts and uncles, and 11 visiting cousins. Elijah and Seara, on the other hand, referred to everyone as "the talking baby" (Cara's Ami), "the girl in the orange suit" (Trent's Gabi), "Little Liam's mom" (Cara), "Savanna's dad" (Davis), and "the girl in the pink shirt" (Trent's Gabi again).
My least favorite thing about Enoch is how observant he is. Before Enoch I could sneak chocolate milk and licorice for lunch. I could have chocolate pudding at will. I could conceal candy. I could hide in the pantry and gobble down chocolate chips to my hearts content. As soon as Enoch was born, he started noticing my little escapades. And as soon as he could talk, he started announcing them. What a bummer. Now I have to share. But I love him anyway.

Happy 2nd Birthday, BabyBoy!

It just AMAZING how much he looks like your dad, which is good since Elijah looks like Sam. What about Seara, I have no idea who she looks like! :) The 1st thing that came to mind when I saw the title was :"Oh, he's 2 and Janae is not preganat!?" :)
Congrats little momma!!!
Fonsy - Ha, ha! It worked out well that Samuel Elijah looks like Sam, and Enoch Ole looks like my dad, eh? I think Seara looks like one of Sam's brothers and one of his sisters - she definitely doesn't have much of me in her!
What a cutie! I LOVE that last picture of him and Elijah! So sweet!
Thank you for confirming my suspicion that Enoch looks just like your dad.
I can't believe he is 2 either! That means you have been gone away for more than two years! And when are you coming back to the hood to visit us, btw?
And I love that picture at the Gateway, I was just thinking the other day that we needed to go there before summer is over...
Mindy - SOON. I really need to come soon. Can we set up a play date/picnic at the park or something with all the old cul-de-sac crew?
Wow he REALLY looks like your dad! Happy Birthday Enoch! :)
Paige - I know! You just never know what kinda baby you'll get when you marry a Ricks boy. My first two look just like their side, and then WHAM! I get my dad incarnate!
Love the photography! Congrats on the 2 year old!
You had 3 babies very close together, maybe a little space will turn out to be a blessing in disguise. If "Bean" turns out to be a middle child someday, perhaps extra attention now will be good for him emotionally! : ) You know there's someone called Bean in Winslow, right?
Alyn - There is someone called Bean in Winslow?? Seriously?! Okay, apparently I need to chat with Sam. That is hilarious!
He looks JUST like your dad!
-Impressive there are no cracks showing in the bottom picture :-)
-It must be weird to have such an old "baby" after having the first three so close. Just think of how long it's been since you had to get up at night on a regular basis and maybe you'll appreciate it more- coming from someone who's up every three hours for an hour!
Those pics of Enoch are great! And yeah, I have an uncle named Gene who everyone calls Bean.
Yesss....
I was once sneaking some gummy bears from the freezer, and Ender says "Having a 'nack, Mommy?" Man, he's good! I was trying so hard to hide it!
Funny, I hide in the pantry to eat chocolate chips, too.
