SuperMom June

I'm out of my element in a home that's not my own, but here are a couple things we did ...

Sidewalk Painting on Sidewalk Chalk
(you wouldn't believe the hit this was!)
Newspaper Hats (first we read books with newspaper hats, then we made & colored them)

Sprinklers

Leaf Imprints (A SuperUncle activity)

My little brother Liam is a better mom than I am, I swear. He always comes up with these crazy fun activities to do with the kids, and he dives right in with them. This particular day he was outside playing around with Sease and Lije, and the next thing I knew they were inside with leaves, paper, and crayons, making imprints. If anyone has a 16 year-old sister that they want to set up with him, let me know! ;)

Janae, I love these super mom posts. You have such great ideas. There are a few nice girls down here that are about 16. ;)

I wish I was in Utah right now! I want to hang out with your kids and with Cara's kids. I'm so jealous.

Great job on supermom, but when did Liam grow up. If you didn't tell me it was him I would have guessed it was Tyler. Wow it's been awhile since I've seen the rest of your family. Tell them hello!

He's not a better mom he's just a great uncle. That's what so great about family... they love your kids too and like to do things with them. I always tell my sister that Aunts are allowed to do things that moms can't. Like give them sugar when they visit! Looks like you are having fun!

I was always facinated by leaf imprints. I even took some and dipped them in paint and put them on a garbage can in my room as a kid.

Oh and I love all the cheesy smile pictures. Especially the one of Enoch. It is SOOO cute!

(Raising hand and jumping up and down.) Choose me! Choose me! I have a 16 year-old daughter who really needs to go out with a "good boy." Just once. She likes leaf imprints, too.

That's great that they love to color. I bet it's pretty hard to think of stuff for 3 kids to do!

Did you ever have a problem with your kids always wanting YOU to color? Tommy will color for about 30 seconds and then the rest of the time he's begging me to draw a kitty or a doggy. Aaarrrg! I should try sidewalk chalk. We're experimenting with playdough and fingerpaints these days....

That's Liam???? Holy smokes! For some reason you expect people to stay the same as when you last saw them. In this case, Liam would be pre-elementary school age. Sheesh.

That's great that they have a good uncle to play with them. Younger kids always seem to be full of fun ideas...I think it's because the hum drum of life hasn't set in yet, perhaps?

Sorry. Me again. What newspaper hat books did you read? And how did you make them?

Erin - Blast, I don't remember ... okay, I know we read Tom & Pippo Go to the Beach (something like that - it was a Tom & Pippo book about going to the beach). We also read Kevin Goes to School by Liesbet Slegers. That book has directions on how to make the hat. Sorry I don't remember more!

Holy canoli I remember Liam being like 4 yrs old. At least thats when I think I saw him last. It was totally crazy to run into your lil sister at BYU in that class I TA'd for even. Gotta love those great siblings when they're so great with your kids. My sisters are the same way. I love it when they come up with awesome activities and my kids just think they're the coolest people.
