So yesterday night I was doing the dishes, right? And I was just about done, I just needed to wash out the sink. I rinsed it out, checked to make sure there weren't any spoons or what not in the garbage disposal, and flipped the switch. Hmmmm ... that high pitched clinking sound is not normal ... so I check the disposal again. Nothing. Alright. I turn it back on. The clinking isn't going away. Something must be caught inside. But I swear I checked. I swear ... I swear ...
See that little beauty? Yeah, it may never look like that again. Right now it sports various gashes, is missing gold chunks, and is nicely bent out of shape. I think I will sell Elijah after all.

oh wow. that is such a sad story! I am so sorry for you. i don't even know what to say. just so sad!
Wow! Elijah's just one huh? I guess he's probably a whole bag of tricks he'll surprise you guys with over the next 20 years if he's ALREADY destroying valuables like your wedding ring! Lucky you Janae that you heard the clinking around of your ring- could you imagine if you just let the disposal grind it to powder??? My oldest sister decided to burry my moms wedding ring in our garden when she was just 3. That was 37 years ago- and that ring still has yet to be unearthed... I think the fact the rings lost out back in my parents backyard just may be the reason my parents still haven't moved homes. Good luck fixing your ring- I heard those rings from Walmart look almost like the real deal and they're only $10- maybe you and Sam could find a look alike. Oh yeah- keep your kid- he's a cutie. ;)
You know how everyone gets different trials and it all evens out? The rest of the world gets stretch marks to ruin the look of their tummies (and other places). You get big gashes in your wedding ring. Just think of it that way. Which would you choose if you had the choice? (I know you...you'd totally choose the ring gouges over stretch marks.)
:)
ps I'd keep him around just in case he becomes useful later. :)
NO! Oh I'm so sorry Janae!
Man, I totally look like I have lipstick on in that picture! (Maybe it's from kissing Janae so much that day.)
Oh, and sorry about your ring. We have an orange spider Halloween one hanging around here somewhere if you want it! ;)
That is why we have no kids... This is one thing you could learn from us... I say sell them all!
Oh I'm so sorry :(
That is super sad. Did you cry? I think I would have cried for a long time. And I would want to sell my kid. Heck, I want to sell Asa when he throws his sandwich on the floor. I don't know what I would do if he was really naughty. I think maybe God gives patient people like you mischievous kids and people like me good kids. I could be wrong, but I don't think I could handle some of the things Elijah has done.
(Now I'm thinking my opinions sound selfish and mean. I hope you can read what I am trying to say.)
Oh, that's so sad...
I lost my ring doing yard work about 2.5 years ago, and sometimes I still get sad about it.
Maybe I'll rent the metal detector, again.
I figure we have to be happy that the marriage is still intact, even if the ring is not.
Oh no!!! I am sorry! I know that would make me sad!!
But your hubby's comments are pretty funny! I think you should go with the orange spider ring for a while!
okay, how did he get a hold of your ring?!? ugh, that is so sad - that little stinker!
Ouch! I am sorry, I would die if something happened to my ring. That's great, though, that Sam has such a good humor about it. If I did that to my ring, my husband would be selling ME (j/k). I hope it easy to fix.
You can't sell Elijah, he is just too darn cute.
Janae, that is so sad! I would be heartbroken! Did you have any unlimited warranty on it? Sam, that's not very funny about the Halloween spider ring. Okay, maybe it is just a little, but I hope you gave your poor wife a sympathy hug!
Is that the same ring that you thought you had lost for like two weeks and then found in one of your jeans pockets? Wow, that ring has history. I seriously gasped out loud when I read that! Did you take it off to do dishes and Elijah chucked it in the sink? What happened??? Never a dull moment in the Ricks household. If you need someone to call and cry to...I'm just a phone call away.
OUCH! Yeah, I think I'd die. I get sick when I ruin a spoon in the disposal...I can't imagine my wedding ring! Kevin lost his ring at least a year ago. But he never even wore it when he DID know where it was. So who needs a ring, right? (Does that make you feel any better because I don't think anything but a new ring would make me feel better!)
How long did you cry? Soooooo sorry!
