Hey, lookie, lookie! I just hooked up my camera and I found these pics that I had completely forgotten about! It was 82 degrees on Sunday, October 18th. Ah, heaven. November and December, take note: we will all like you better if your high is 82 not 28.
So I have nothing to say about these pictures ... well, except, have you ever visited the Brigham Young Memorial Park in the north east corner of Temple Square? It's my new favorite spot. Note to self: picnic there come spring.
Okay, NOW I have nothing to say about the pictures. I just have a question. What do you think of my shirt? Sam and I went shopping for Elijah's birthday and found it on a sale rack for $6. We actually only pulled it out for me to try on because it was hilarious. I mean, PEACOCK feathers?? And that gigantic broach thing on the front???! It was so funny. Then I put it on ..... and Sam and I both stared in silence. It actually looked cute on me. So we bought it. I mean, who can pass up a six buck shirt? I'm trying to decide if it is too gaudy for every-day wear. So far I've only worn in with that skirt to church. Would it look weird with jeans or black slacks on a weekday?

well, after reading the other comments, maybe I shouldn't say what I'm going to say. But I will. :)
If you do wear it with jeans, I say you have to wear it with fancier shoes (not tennis shoes), and do nice hair and makeup so you kind of match over all. Jeans, tennis shoes, little or no makeup, and a pony tail with that shirt would look pretty weird. To me at least. :) You could totally wear it with slacks, I think. That automatically dresses you up a bit so you don't have to worry so much about the "other" stuff I mentioned. (Though I don't recommend wearing tennis shoes with slacks, in case you were wondering.) :)

The shirt - totally cute. Wear it everywhere. It would look especially great with one of those peacock feather hats that were so stylin' during the era of Pride and Prejudice. OK, I'm just kidding about that last part but really do love the shirt. Also, I've never even HEARD of the Brigham Young Memorial Park, but it looks beautiful. We'll definitely have to go there sometime.
It's fun to find photos that were forgotten, looks like a lovely sunday afternoon! The top is cute, and I agree with what has already been said--you can wear it with jeans (+ dressy shoes & a dressier "look") & slacks (same)...fun, versatile top for $6--can't beat that!!
I love the shirt! I happen to like peacock feathers. :-) (Though I do have to admit that I think the brooch is a little on the Wow-that's-a-big-brooch side.) I think you could totally pull that shirt off with a pair of jeans! And it looks great on you!
I think you could definitely get away with wearing it with slacks. Jeans might be pushing it though...don't you just love trying on ugly things and discovering they're maybe not as ugly as you thought?
By NE corner of temple Square, I assume you don't mean right next to the temple entrance?
You mean (north)East of the church office building block, somewhere near where Brigham Young is buried?
So much has changed in the 10.5 years since I lived on temple square, and I've only been back once. In my mind, I just can't make it "temple rectangle", despite the street closure and new fountains...
Alyn - Yeah, I mean east of the Church Office Building. With the whole street closure they expanded the temple square 'block' to include about four blocks worth of stuff. It took a while for me to get used to it!
I have no idea what to say about the fashion stuff. But I do like the park!
How fun to just visit that whenever you want. I started to get a little sad that we don't live in Utah, but then I remembered Nauvoo is pretty close to us. It's not as spectacular and hoppin' with all of the church sites as in Utah, but beautiful and sweet. Temple Square is very awesome!
I haven't just meandered around Temple Square in forever! I forget just how pretty the grounds are.
I totally think YOU could pull off that shirt with anything! (pull off as in look great in it not pull off as in ending up half naked)
