Surreal

My house is empty. I mean EMPTY. My driveway, however, has a gigantic ABF semi-truck, full of everything I own. Needless to say, we're sleeping on the floor tonight. I can't believe this is happening so quickly! I think I've been too busy to feel sad, but its just starting to hit me. Yikes!

Life can change so quickly. Good luck sleeping on the floor. :) You may have to do that again at our house. :)

Advice from someone who's lived far from family, almost 9 years now:

1. INVITE people over for dinner or desert or whatever. (We've had most success with others who also live away from family.)

2. Start a playgroup/park day or attend story time at the library.

3. Find locations and events to enjoy in the community. (i.e. Blueberry picking, Festivals, Parades, Botanical Gardens, etc.)

4. Get involved in the community & church. Enjoy the experience of creating a new home, new [holiday] traditions and lasting memories.

5. Your church family becomes your FAMILY. Take care of them.

6. Watch out for ticks, chiggers and poison ivy. Sitting on the grass is dangerous East of the Rockies!

7. Don't eat Mexican food unless it comes with stellar recommendations, from 3 or more people. (preferably people who know what it's supposed to taste like)

Well, there's my 2 cents. Hope your trip goes great! Hope you have a portable DVD player.

Hey girl. I promise I didn't forget you last weekend. I didn't end up driving down until Saturday morning after dropping off the kids in Aberdeen. We went to the seminar and then drove right back to Aberdeen to get the kids and back home to arrive there are midnight. So I wasn't even in town on Friday. But I'm sure you didn't mind not having one more request on your already full plate. I hope the move went well and I'll give you a call in a bit. love ya.
