OBSERVATION #1 - One of these things is not like the others
When we are all home and Ty is visiting (which is often), there are seven cars in the driveway. Notice anything in common?
Can you say Toyota Dealership?? And, of course, the odd man out:
OBSERVATION #2 - Looks can deceive
Take a gander around our house and you might think we are a musical family. But you would be grossly mistaken. My mom would have liked us to be musical. Only we wouldn't practice. Hence only one of the eight kids is good enough to actually play at church. So sad!
OBSERVATION #3 - Sixteen years in the making
As a kid, one of the things I loved most about Grandma Baker's house were the senior pictures on her mantle. In 1994 my parents put up our very first senior picture. Now, 16 years later, the set is finally complete.

And that is very cool that the wall of pictures is complete. I just wish I liked my picture. I've hated it from the beginning. And now it's on the wall forever. Bummer. I would totally not be opposed to swapping those pictures out for anything else (current pics, Kindergarten pics, ANYTHING!!)
And I do think it's funny that we are such Toyota die-hards (Camry, especially). But hey, when you find something that's great, why change??
In our group of friends we have 4 white Toyota's. So we a.e all for the dealership you have at your house.

VERY interesting pictures. Have you seen the "grandchildren wall" downstairs at this house? (I had one in Port Angeles, too.) I love it.
I love your posts...and I love the stair case pictures I didn't know there were 8 kids in your family! Seriously awesome and now interested to see what observations Sam comes up with.
I always found it odd looking at your family's senior pics in grandma's house that you all had on the same black outfits... It must be a mandatory Utah thing?
Kelli - Well, there are technically two kinds of senior pictures here in Utah. There are the find-your-own-photographer and pose in your cheer leading/football/dance uniform, or with your guitar/drums/violin type. For example, Episode 1 came out at the time I graduated and Sam was a big Star Wars guy at the time, so he was dressed in Obi Wan Kanobi garb for some of his senior pictures. Yes, I do make fun of him for it.
Then there are the take-at-school-for-the-yearbook type of senior pictures. So for the yearbook ones here all the guys have tux tops they put on for the pic and all the girls have ... the v-neck thingie. It looks pretty snazzy in the yearbook. But my parents never had the money to do fancy senior pictures, so that was it for us. There is your novel-length explanation. :)
ps. Lissa graduated from high school in Chile, that's why she's not in a v-neck. She's just wearing a fancy dress (what they did in Chile). It's actually green. But it looked so bright and stood out so much next to the rest of us, that we ended up photoshopping it black, just to fit in.

-I hear ya on the lack of musical skill despite lessons. I'm always embarrassed just trying to lead music despite 6 years of piano.
-I am seriously impressed with the matching senior pictures. I'm kinda relieved to hear Lissa's was photoshopped. This really helped me figure out the birth order in your family. It's always weird to see pictures of yourself from so long ago. It seems the more in style you were at the time the worse you look later... luckily you all have the same style! :-)

This is crazy! I remember Liam as a little preschooler...now his picture is up on the senior picture wall. I feel old.
ps. I had no idea that Sam dressed up as Obi Wan for some senior pictures. No wonder he and Jason get along so well. They are both complete Star Wars nerds.
Your driveway does look like a Toyota lot. Crazy! And the senior picture wall complete. Pretty good. It didn't take my mom nearly as long, and it doesn't look quite as cool with only 3 of us. But we did the black outfits or tuxes in Idaho as well.
