I can't help but just stare at myself. For hours. I really can't help it. And I feel like my head is floating off my body, it is so light. Because guess what I did for St. Patrick's Day ...
Yup, I chopped it. All of it. Okay, not really ALL. Just most. Like nearly two feet. I actually sold it. For $1075. Here is one of my ad pictures:
And here I am now ...
See! Can you blame me for staring?! I think I am still in denial. This is NUTS!

wow wow wow! who did you sell it to? that's crazy! what are you going to do with all that money?
I was hoping you'd post before and after pictures tonight. Crazy! It looks cute! You look older, like maybe you could actually have 2 1/2 kids. :) Have you weighed yourself? Ha ha! I bet you've lost weight! :)
This is Davis ... very cool Janae. I like the change! It'll be fun to grow it out again. Maybe I should grow mine out with you?
I love it!
YOu look FABULOUS! The short cut is spunky & fun...I am so impressed with how LONG it was & how much cash you got for it! SWEET!
Wow! What a dramatic change! It looks great!
You're my inspiration! Seriously! I want to cut my hair, but I'm trying to grow it out. I'm going to be just like you!!! (In 2 years).
Looks awesome, by the way!
That is sooooo great! I think you look fantastic...I can see a lot more of your mom in you...or even maybe Lissa when she had her hair short like that. Or maybe she still does...anyway, I'm glad you banked! You deserve it. Buy something nice for yourself with a little of the cash, aye?
I've done that before too, and it definately takes some getting used to. Like you said, your head feels so light!!
And as I'm sure you've already found, having short hair greatly reduces the amount of time it takes getting ready for the day. I think that was my favorite part. You can practically comb it AND style it with your fingers and head out the door.
It looks really cute on you!
Way cute! I guess I don't get the whole selling it thing? That is A LOT of money for hair...how did you advertise?
HOLY COW!!! THAT IS AWESOME! I can't believe you got so much! I would KILL to be able to grow my hair out that long! Oh well, C'est la vie. And I LOVE the short hair too. You always look cute no matter how long your hair is. :o)
Wow, Janae! You told me to be prepared to be shocked and it still didn't prepare me! I gasped out loud, Erik asked me what was wrong, I told him that you'd chopped your hair, he saw the picture and how much money you got for it and then said "Hey, why don't you grow your hair out and then chop it too?" Geez. I'm curious too - where did you sell it and how did you find out about that? Totally cool though. You look so different, but very cute! Cheers for being so brave!
ohmygosh!! i was wondering when you were going to do it. it's so cute! did you use way too much shampoo the first time? :) okay, so now i want to know how you sold it - an ad? where? maybe if i can last growing my long enough, i'll do the same thing.
Wow. That is a nice chunk of change. You have inspired me to grow my hair out and then sell it. . . now to just convince the wife . . . :)
